About the Try Scuba Diving Program

The Try Scuba Diving program sits between a basic try dive and a full certification course — more thorough than one, less commitment than the other. You'll spend 3.5–4 hours learning to actually dive: theory, confined water skills practice, and then an open water dive at a real dive site.

The open water dive is the centrepiece. You choose the site - from the sheltered shore entry at Nemo Reef (₹3,500) up to premium offshore sites like Turtle Beach and Aquarium (₹7,500), and every price is inclusive of GST. Your instructor is with you throughout the entire dive. GoPro photos and videos are included in every package.

RAID Try Dive: Who Can Join

Age 10 and above - Try Dive: skills practice in calm, shallow water up to 5m, then an open water dive up to 12m.
Age 8 and 9 - Try Dive Cadet: shallow, calm water only, up to 2m. There is no open water dive at this age. Message us on WhatsApp to book a Cadet session.
No upper age limit. Everyone fills in a dive medical questionnaire. You only need a doctor's sign-off if you answer yes to any medical question.
Paperwork on the day: the medical questionnaire, a liability release and a safe diving practices form. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18.
Swimming: we recommend it, but you do not need to know how to swim. Your instructor stays with you the whole time.

Your Try Dive - Step by Step

Session 1 · 30 Min

Theory & Knowledge Check

Classroom session covering dive physics, how breathing underwater works, pressure and equalisation, equipment overview, and emergency procedures. Short knowledge review before you proceed. No exam - this is interactive, not a test.

Session 2 · 30 Min

Confined Water Skills

Skills practice in calm, shallow water, up to 5m. You'll clear your mask, recover your regulator, practice neutral buoyancy, and learn to equalise your ears. Your instructor works with you one-on-one until you're comfortable with each skill before moving on.

Session 3 · 30 Min

Open Water Dive

The main event - your first real scuba dive at the site you've selected. Your instructor guides you through the reef. The GoPro captures everything. Maximum depth is 12m.

RAID electronic Try Dive certificate registered in your name. GoPro content transferred to your phone. Hotel drop completed. Total time from start to hotel drop: approximately 4 hours.

Health note: the Try Dive is not suitable for guests with heart conditions, uncontrolled asthma, active ear infections, or recent surgery. Everyone fills in a dive medical questionnaire on the day. If you answer yes to any question, you need a doctor to sign that you are fit to dive, so get that done at home before you travel. If you're unsure, call us first - we'd rather advise correctly than have you show up and not be able to dive.

The iconic vertical coral pillar covered in reddish-orange corals. Butterflyfish and angelfish schools swirl around the formation. Exceptional visibility - among the best at any local site.

Tribe Gate ₹4,500

An oval seamount with all five Andaman clownfish species and the highest giant Tridacna clam density of any local site. The Pavona coral ruins add a unique underwater landscape unlike any other Try Dive site.

Named for its extraordinary water clarity, this is Havelock's top-rated dive site for biodiversity. Incredible density of marine life at every depth. If you want the best possible first dive experience with maximum marine life, this is it.

Not sure which to choose? For a first dive on a budget: Nemo Reef. For the best beginner experience overall: Tribe Gate or Lighthouse. For maximum marine life and the "wow" factor: Aquarium or Turtle Beach. All sites are suitable for a Try Dive - the price difference reflects boat time, not difficulty.

Yes - you can select or change your dive site when you confirm your booking via WhatsApp. If you're unsure at the time of booking, select Nemo Reef as the default and let us know your preference when we confirm. Upgrades to a different site are straightforward - just pay the difference.

The price difference reflects boat time, fuel, and crew logistics - not the difficulty of the dive. Nemo Reef (₹3,500) is a shore entry with no boat required. Aquarium and Turtle Beach (₹7,500 each) involve longer offshore boat journeys. The Try Dive programme itself is identical at every site - the difference is purely the destination you dive.

Minimum age for a try dive is 10 years: shallow-water practice up to 5 m, then an open-water dive up to 12 m. Children aged 8 and 9 can do the RAID Try Dive Cadet in shallow water only, up to 2 m. The standard Try Dive includes a 30 minute open water dive. For an additional ₹1,500, your instructor extends your dive time by 15 minutes, giving you about 45 minutes underwater. This is particularly worthwhile at the premium sites (Lighthouse, Aquarium, Turtle Beach) where there is more to see and more ground to cover.

Our visit to Havelock (Govind nagar Beach) with Frogman for scuba diving and snorkeling was an absolutely amazing experience. Everything was organized very well by Mr. Suchit Sir, who was present throughout the entire experience and made sure we were comfortable and safe at all times.
The team was extremely professional, supportive, and friendly. Safety was clearly their top priority, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Underwater, we saw beautiful corals and a wide variety of colorful fish in the deep sea it was truly a different and unforgettable world.
I sincerely thank the entire Frogman team and everyone who supported us during the activity. I would highly recommend Frogman to anyone visiting for scuba diving or snorkeling. Keep up the great work, guys!

What an experience! We as a family enjoyed every bit of this activity. We did the lighthouse scuba dive. Never had the experience this close with the variety of fishes and corels. Must do while in Havelock and frogman makes scuba diving comfortable and relaxing. Founder Suchit is very professional and the instructors and divers are also very professional. They all know their responsibilities and passion. Neelkant, Ketan, Rubin and other divers were very patient and explained everything (does and don't) underwater. The team really makes u comfortable and tries to push themselves and us for an excellent experience. If time permits, will book this dive again. If not for sure next time.

We had a wonderful experience with Frogman. We had Neelkanth and Ketan sir as our diving instructors. It was our first time trying it out. The pre-training was very clear. In the first 10 minutes open sea, I even had a panic reaction, but Neelkanth sir calmly got me to the surface and explained my mistake patiently, and we went back underwater, and it went all superbly well!
