About Purple Haze scuba diving

Purple Haze is a sloping reef on the west coast of Havelock named for its soft purple corals and sea fans. Fusiliers and sweetlips move over the top of the reef, and the slope drops from about 10 metres to 25.

You start with a theory and shallow-water session, then descend with your instructor holding on to you for the full 30 minutes underwater. No certification, no experience and no swimming needed. 30 GoPro photos and 3 videos are sent to your phone the same day.

What you'll see

Soft corals and sea fans. The purple and lavender soft corals that give the site its name cover the upper slope.
Fusiliers and sweetlips. Loose schools move over the reef top; sweetlips hang in the shade of the coral heads.
Anemones with clownfish. Scattered across the reef top at the depth you spend most of the dive.
Butterflyfish and angelfish. Pairs working the coral, easy to watch at close range.

FAQs

No. Your instructor stays with you one-to-one for the whole dive and controls your buoyancy. Most of our first-time divers at Purple Haze cannot swim.

The speedboat to Purple Haze and back, all scuba equipment and a dive suit, a theory and shallow-water session, a certified instructor one-to-one for the whole dive, and 30 GoPro photos plus 3 videos sent to your phone the same day.

30 minutes underwater after about 30 minutes of training. The Pro upgrade adds ₹1,000 for 15 extra minutes underwater, 10 more photos and 2 more videos.

Minimum age for a try dive is 10 years: shallow-water practice up to 5 m, then an open-water dive up to 12 m. Children aged 8 and 9 can do the RAID Try Dive Cadet in shallow water only, up to 2 m. There is no upper age limit. Everyone fills in a medical form, and you only need a doctor's sign-off if you answer yes to any medical question.

Expect 3 to 4 hours from the time you reach the dive centre: briefing, boat ride, the dive itself, and the ride back.

Yes. The ₹5,000 is inclusive of GST, so the amount you see is the amount you pay. Your invoice shows the breakdown.

Cancel 72 hours or more before your slot and you get a full refund, minus a 5% payment gateway fee and GST. Inside 72 hours, or if you do not show up, there is no refund. Weather cancellations on our side are refunded in full.

Our visit to Havelock (Govind nagar Beach) with Frogman for scuba diving and snorkeling was an absolutely amazing experience. Everything was organized very well by Mr. Suchit Sir, who was present throughout the entire experience and made sure we were comfortable and safe at all times.
The team was extremely professional, supportive, and friendly. Safety was clearly their top priority, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Underwater, we saw beautiful corals and a wide variety of colorful fish in the deep sea it was truly a different and unforgettable world.
I sincerely thank the entire Frogman team and everyone who supported us during the activity. I would highly recommend Frogman to anyone visiting for scuba diving or snorkeling. Keep up the great work, guys!

What an experience! We as a family enjoyed every bit of this activity. We did the lighthouse scuba dive. Never had the experience this close with the variety of fishes and corels. Must do while in Havelock and frogman makes scuba diving comfortable and relaxing. Founder Suchit is very professional and the instructors and divers are also very professional. They all know their responsibilities and passion. Neelkant, Ketan, Rubin and other divers were very patient and explained everything (does and don't) underwater. The team really makes u comfortable and tries to push themselves and us for an excellent experience. If time permits, will book this dive again. If not for sure next time.

 Verified Fantastic first experience in scuba diving.
We had a wonderful experience with Frogman. We had Neelkanth and Ketan sir as our diving instructors. It was our first time trying it out. The pre-training was very clear. In the first 10 minutes open sea, I even had a panic reaction, but Neelkanth sir calmly got me to the surface and explained my mistake patiently, and we went back underwater, and it went all superbly well!
