Zero to Hero is a 60-day live-in diving internship at Frogman Adventures, Havelock Island. You arrive with no diving experience and leave with a professional RAID Divemaster card and over 60 logged dives. The program covers all 5 RAID certifications progressively — Open Water, Advanced Open Water, First Aid & CPR, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster — with daily diving throughout.

Do I need prior diving experience for the Zero to Hero internship?

No prior diving experience is required. The program is designed for complete beginners. You start with the RAID Open Water course and progress through each certification level systematically. The only requirements are a minimum age of 18, the ability to swim 400 metres continuously, and a medical fitness clearance.

What certifications do I earn in the Zero to Hero program?

You earn 5 RAID certifications in sequence: RAID Open Water, RAID Advanced 35, First Aid & CPR, RAID Master Rescue Diver, and finally RAID Divemaster. All are lifetime certifications recognised worldwide. By the end of the program you are qualified to work as a professional dive guide anywhere in the world.

How many dives will I complete during the Zero to Hero internship?

You will log a minimum of 60 dives across the 60-day program. This includes certification training dives for all 5 courses plus the 20+ supervised dives required for the Divemaster internship. All dives take place at Havelock Island's premier reef sites.

Most people spend years slowly working through their diving certifications. Zero to Hero compresses the entire journey — from never having dived before to holding a professional RAID Divemaster card — into 60 days in the water at Havelock Island.

This is 60 days of diving every day. You live on the island, you're in the water constantly, and by the end you're assisting with student instruction and leading guided dives. Who Is This Program For?

The Zero to Hero program begins from absolute zero — you do not need any prior diving experience. What you do need is the time, the commitment, and a basic level of swimming fitness. The program is designed to take care of everything else.

No Diving Experience Required

Zero to Hero starts from the very beginning. You will earn your Open Water certification in Weeks 1–2. No prior scuba experience, no prerequisites beyond swimming ability.

Swimming Fitness

You must be able to swim 400 metres continuously and tread water for 15 minutes without stopping. These are RAID Divemaster entry requirements and will be tested on Day 1.

Minimum Age: 18 Years

The Divemaster program requires a minimum age of 18 years. This applies to the full Zero to Hero internship. All participants must be 18+ at the time the program starts.

6–8 Weeks Available

The program requires your full commitment for 6–8 weeks in Havelock Island. This is not a weekend course — it's a lifestyle for two months. Flexibility in pace is possible but presence is essential.

Medical Fitness

A medical fitness clearance from a doctor is required before starting. The RAID Divemaster medical form covers cardiovascular and respiratory health. Contact us if you have specific concerns — most healthy adults qualify without issue.

Accommodation & Budget Planning

You'll need to arrange accommodation on Havelock Island for the duration — typically ₹15,000–26,000/month. We help all Zero to Hero students find suitable long-stay options near the dive centre before they arrive.

Your 60-Day Program

The program is structured in four phases, each building on the last. The pace is intensive but manageable — every phase has built-in rest days and the schedule adapts to weather and individual learning pace.

Weeks 1–2

Foundation Phase — OW & Advanced

Complete your RAID Open Water certification in the first week — confined water skills followed by 4 open water dives. Week 2 moves straight into the Advanced Open Water course: 5 adventure dives including the mandatory Deep Dive (30m) and Navigation, plus 3 electives of your choice. By end of Week 2 you have 20+ dives logged and two certification cards.

Week 3

Rescue Mindset — First Aid & CPR & Rescue Diver

First Aid & CPR course first — CPR, first aid, and emergency oxygen in a half-day session. Then the RAID Master Rescue Diver course over 3–4 days: stress recognition, panicked diver rescues, unresponsive diver management, and full rescue scenarios. This is the most intense week of the program — and the most rewarding.

Weeks 4–8

Divemaster Internship

The heart of Zero to Hero. You join the Frogman dive team as an intern Divemaster candidate — assisting instructors with student Open Water and Advanced courses, leading guided fun dives, perfecting your rescue skills and equipment management, and completing all Divemaster knowledge and skills assessments. By Week 8 you have 60+ logged dives and a working understanding of how a professional dive operation runs.

Final Week

Certification & Career Launch

Final Divemaster skill assessments, RAID paperwork, and your professional registration (fees paid directly to RAID). Career counselling session with the Frogman team — CV review, interview prep, job market orientation. Graduate with your RAID Divemaster card and a logbook that most recreational divers take years to fill.

Yes — completely. Zero to Hero starts from scratch. Your first ever underwater breath will be in the pool during your Open Water confined water sessions. The program is specifically designed for people with no prior scuba experience. All you need is the ability to swim and the commitment to stick with it for 60 days.

RAID Divemaster is a globally recognised professional rating — you can work as a dive guide, assistant instructor, or staff at RAID or RAID dive centres worldwide. Andaman, Southeast Asia, Maldives, Red Sea, Caribbean — the card opens doors everywhere. Frogman provides career referrals to top graduates and occasionally hires from our own ZTH cohort.

Accommodation is not included in the course fee but we actively help you find and book it before you arrive. Long-stay monthly rentals on Havelock Island typically cost ₹15,000–26,000/month. We connect all Zero to Hero students with trusted local landlords and guesthouse owners near the dive centre.

RAID charges a professional registration fee of approximately USD 150 (₹12,500) for Divemaster certification — this is paid directly to RAID and is not included in our course fee. All other certification fees (Open Water, Advanced, First Aid & CPR, Rescue Diver) are included in your Zero to Hero price.

Yes — we can customise the program to start from wherever you are. If you're already Open Water certified, you skip Week 1 and begin with Advanced. If you're already Advanced, you start at Week 3. The 60-day timeline is a guide, not a strict deadline. Learning pace varies between individuals and weather can occasionally affect dive schedules. We build flexibility into the program — if you need an extra week to complete certain assessments, we accommodate that. The goal is a confident, competent Divemaster, not a tick-box exercise.

Our visit to Havelock (Govind nagar Beach) with Frogman for scuba diving and snorkeling was an absolutely amazing experience. Everything was organized very well by Mr. Suchit Sir, who was present throughout the entire experience and made sure we were comfortable and safe at all times.
The team was extremely professional, supportive, and friendly. Safety was clearly their top priority, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Underwater, we saw beautiful corals and a wide variety of colorful fish in the deep sea it was truly a different and unforgettable world.
I sincerely thank the entire Frogman team and everyone who supported us during the activity. I would highly recommend Frogman to anyone visiting for scuba diving or snorkeling. Keep up the great work, guys!

What an experience! We as a family enjoyed every bit of this activity. We did the lighthouse scuba dive. Never had the experience this close with the variety of fishes and corels. Must do while in Havelock and frogman makes scuba diving comfortable and relaxing. Founder Suchit is very professional and the instructors and divers are also very professional. They all know their responsibilities and passion. Neelkant, Ketan, Rubin and other divers were very patient and explained everything (does and don't) underwater. The team really makes u comfortable and tries to push themselves and us for an excellent experience. If time permits, will book this dive again. If not for sure next time.

We had a wonderful experience with Frogman. We had Neelkanth and Ketan sir as our diving instructors. It was our first time trying it out. The pre-training was very clear. In the first 10 minutes open sea, I even had a panic reaction, but Neelkanth sir calmly got me to the surface and explained my mistake patiently, and we went back underwater, and it went all superbly well!
