About The Slope snorkeling

The Slope is on the northwest coast of Havelock, in front of the lighthouse. Amphitheatre-shaped coral ridges step down from a shallow top, and on a calm morning you can watch the cleaning stations working from the surface.

You snorkel straight off the boat at the mooring for 30 to 40 minutes. On the guided rate your guide stays in the water with you and carries a GoPro the whole time; you get 20 photos and 2 videos sent to your phone before you leave.

What you'll see from the surface

Coral ridges. Amphitheatre-shaped hard coral ridges stepping down from the reef top.
Cleaning stations. Wrasse and shrimp working over larger reef fish that queue on the coral heads.
Reef fish schools. Fusiliers, surgeonfish and snappers over the ridges.
Stingrays. On the sand between ridges, visible on clear days.

The Slope is where our divers go for macro life, but the top of the ridges is shallow enough to make a good snorkel on a calm day, with far fewer boats than the house reefs.

Yes. Book the guided rate: we give you a life vest that holds you at the surface with no effort, and your guide is in the water beside you for the whole session.

Guided (₹5,000) means your guide is in the water with you the whole time, which is what non-swimmers and first-timers need. The swimmer rate (₹4,500) is for people confident in open water; your guide stays on the boat and you snorkel with the group. Both include the same gear, boat and GoPro photos.

The speedboat to The Slope and back; mask, snorkel and fins; a life jacket if you need one; your guide; and 20 GoPro photos plus 2 videos sent to your phone.

Snorkeling keeps you at the surface floating over the reef. Scuba puts you underwater with tanks and a regulator. If you want to go below the surface at The Slope, see our The Slope Scuba option.

Ages 8 and above at boat sites. Kids under 12 need a parent or guardian in the water with them. We fit child-sized masks and fins at the jetty.

Budget around 2.5 to 3 hours including the boat: the briefing at the jetty, the ride out, 30 to 40 minutes in the water, and the ride back.

Yes. The ₹5,000 is inclusive of GST, so the amount you see is the amount you pay. Your invoice shows the breakdown.

Cancel 72 hours or more before your slot and you get a full refund, minus a 5% payment gateway fee and GST. Inside 72 hours, or if you do not show up, there is no refund. Weather cancellations on our side are refunded in full.
