Nemo Reef is the most accessible entry point into Havelock's underwater world - no boat, no tanks, no certification required. You wade in from the beach at Beach No. 2, put your face in the water, and within minutes you're floating above a shallow coral garden at 1–4m depth with clownfish darting in and out of their anemones directly below you.
It's a completely different experience to scuba diving - you stay at the surface, breathing through your snorkel, watching the reef below you. The water here is calm and clear year-round (the bay is sheltered from currents and swell), and the reef is shallow enough that everything is visible in excellent natural light. A GoPro captures your session - 20 photos and 2 videos delivered to your phone on the day.

Age & health: Suitable for ages 6 and above. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water. Not suitable for anyone with active ear infections on the day. Pregnant guests should consult their doctor before joining.
Nemo Reef's most productive zone sits at 1–4m depth - exactly where snorkelers are. The shallow coral garden is bright, well-lit, and packed with life. Clownfish are the headline, but the reef has far more to offer once you're floating over it.
The advantage of snorkeling at Nemo Reef: the shallow depth means everything is in full natural light. You're looking down at the reef from above, which gives a wide-angle view of the coral garden that scuba divers don't get. The clownfish anemones are particularly striking from directly above.
For the deeper sections (8–15m) - the Jeep wreck, moray eels, nudibranchs, and the second reef structure - you'd need our Nemo Reef Scuba experience. Snorkeling covers the top 1–4m, which contains the clownfish, anemones, and the most colourful section of the reef.
Nemo Reef sits directly off Beach No. 2 (Nemo Beach) in Govind Nagar on Havelock's north shore - a 5-10 minute walk or auto-rickshaw ride from the main jetty. There is no boat involved: you wade in from the beach and the reef begins immediately. It's one of the only reefs in Andaman accessible directly on foot, which is what makes it ideal for snorkeling.
No - we provide a life jacket or buoyancy vest for non-swimmers. The life jacket keeps you effortlessly at the surface so you can float face-down and look at the reef without any swimming effort. Your guide is in the water with you throughout the session. Many first-time snorkelers at Nemo Reef cannot swim at all.

Yes - clownfish are the reason this reef is called Nemo Reef. They live in sea anemones at 1–3m depth, which is exactly the snorkeling zone. Your guide knows exactly where the anemone colonies are. Clownfish are territorial and will approach you if you stay still - they're protective of their anemone and curious about snorkelers.
Snorkeling keeps you at the surface (1–4m) - you float and look down at the reef through clear water. Scuba diving takes you underwater for 30 minutes at 5–15m depth, with breathing equipment (tank and regulator), letting you move through the reef and explore the coral gardens, wreck structures, and deeper marine life up close. Snorkeling is quicker, simpler, and less expensive - ideal if you want to see the clownfish and reef without going underwater. The scuba experience is ₹2,500 and includes longer underwater time and more GoPro content.
Yes - snorkeling at Nemo Reef is suitable for children aged 6 and above. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also in the water. We fit child-sized masks and fins. The calm, shallow water and the clownfish sightings make it particularly memorable for younger guests. The GoPro content is a great keepsake for families.
Beach No. 2 (Nemo Beach / Govind Nagar) is 2–3km from the main Havelock ferry jetty. Auto-rickshaws and e-bikes are available from the jetty and most hotels. The ride takes 5–10 minutes. Our dive centre is at the beach - look for the Frogman sign. No advance transport booking is needed.
