About Purple Haze snorkeling

Purple Haze is a sloping reef on the west coast of Havelock named for its soft purple corals and sea fans. The upper reef sits close enough to the surface to snorkel over, with fusiliers moving across it in loose schools.

You snorkel straight off the boat at the mooring for 30 to 40 minutes. On the guided rate your guide stays in the water with you and carries a GoPro the whole time; you get 20 photos and 2 videos sent to your phone before you leave.

What you'll see from the surface

Soft corals and sea fans. The purple and lavender soft corals that give the site its name, visible from directly above.
Fusiliers. Loose schools moving over the reef top, easy to follow from the surface.
Anemones with clownfish. Scattered across the shallow reef top.
Butterflyfish and angelfish. Pairs working the coral in full natural light.

FAQs

Yes. Book the guided rate: we give you a life vest that holds you at the surface with no effort, and your guide is in the water beside you for the whole session.

Guided (₹3,500) means your guide is in the water with you the whole time, which is what non-swimmers and first-timers need. The swimmer rate (₹3,000) is for people confident in open water; your guide stays on the boat and you snorkel with the group. Both include the same gear, boat and GoPro photos.

The speedboat to Purple Haze and back; mask, snorkel and fins; a life jacket if you need one; your guide; and 20 GoPro photos plus 2 videos sent to your phone.

Snorkeling keeps you at the surface floating over the reef. Scuba puts you underwater with tanks and a regulator. If you want to go below the surface at Purple Haze, see our Purple Haze Scuba option.

Ages 8 and above at boat sites. Kids under 12 need a parent or guardian in the water with them. We fit child-sized masks and fins at the jetty.

Budget around 2.5 to 3 hours including the boat: the briefing at the jetty, the ride out, 30 to 40 minutes in the water, and the ride back.

Yes. The ₹3,500 is inclusive of GST, so the amount you see is the amount you pay. Your invoice shows the breakdown.

Cancel 72 hours or more before your slot and you get a full refund, minus a 5% payment gateway fee and GST. Inside 72 hours, or if you do not show up, there is no refund. Weather cancellations on our side are refunded in full.

Our visit to Havelock (Govind nagar Beach) with Frogman for scuba diving and snorkeling was an absolutely amazing experience. Everything was organized very well by Mr. Suchit Sir, who was present throughout the entire experience and made sure we were comfortable and safe at all times.
The team was extremely professional, supportive, and friendly. Safety was clearly their top priority, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Underwater, we saw beautiful corals and a wide variety of colorful fish in the deep sea it was truly a different and unforgettable world.
I sincerely thank the entire Frogman team and everyone who supported us during the activity. I would highly recommend Frogman to anyone visiting for scuba diving or snorkeling. Keep up the great work, guys!

What an experience! We as a family enjoyed every bit of this activity. We did the lighthouse scuba dive. Never had the experience this close with the variety of fishes and corels. Must do while in Havelock and frogman makes scuba diving comfortable and relaxing. Founder Suchit is very professional and the instructors and divers are also very professional. They all know their responsibilities and passion. Neelkant, Ketan, Rubin and other divers were very patient and explained everything (does and don't) underwater. The team really makes u comfortable and tries to push themselves and us for an excellent experience. If time permits, will book this dive again. If not for sure next time.

 Verified Fantastic first experience in scuba diving.
We had a wonderful experience with Frogman. We had Neelkanth and Ketan sir as our diving instructors. It was our first time trying it out. The pre-training was very clear. In the first 10 minutes open sea, I even had a panic reaction, but Neelkanth sir calmly got me to the surface and explained my mistake patiently, and we went back underwater, and it went all superbly well!
