Some dive sites need explaining. This one doesn't - the Aquarium looks exactly like its name. A sheltered fringing reef off Havelock's southwest coast, 10–15 minutes by speedboat from the jetty, with dense hard coral gardens, exceptionally clear water and clouds of colourful reef fish at depths where the sunlight still does its best work. Diving here feels like swimming inside a giant, living aquarium.
The reef flat starts at just 2 m and slopes gently to 15 m, dotted with coral bommies that each host their own small community. Clownfish hold anemones across the reef, snappers and trevally school over the coral, and groupers watch from their crevices. Currents are nil to slight and the site is sheltered from swell - conditions stay calm and predictable on almost every day of the season, which is why so many divers meet the reef here for the first time.
Standard vs Pro: The standard dive is 30 minutes underwater with GoPro photos and videos. Upgrade to Pro (+₹1,000) for an extra 15 minutes underwater (45 min total), plus 10 extra GoPro photos and 2 extra videos - more time to explore the bommies and the deeper reef slope.

The Aquarium earns its name on fish density alone. The shallow, sunlit reef supports dense hard coral gardens and a fish community that stays busy all day - the Andaman Islands host over 750 marine fish species, and this small reef feels like a showcase of the highlights. Everything happens at comfortable depths in clear water, so you miss nothing.
The Aquarium lies off Havelock's southwest coast, roughly 5 km from the island and a 10–15 minute speedboat ride from the jetty. It is a classic fringing reef - a long, shallow coral structure running parallel to the shore, decorated with scattered bommies and open sand corridors. The site faces west, which shelters it from the northeast swell during peak season - one reason its conditions are so reliably calm.
Yes - the Aquarium is one of Havelock's most beginner-friendly boat dives. The reef starts at just 2 m, currents are nil to slight, and the site is sheltered from waves. Your instructor is physically with you throughout the entire dive. No swimming ability or prior certification is required. First-time divers are guided one-on-one to a maximum of 12 m.
Because that's exactly what it feels like. It's the kind of site where even the boat crew still looks over the side.
Both include GoPro photos and videos of your dive. The standard package (₹6,500) is 30 minutes underwater at the Aquarium. The Pro upgrade (+₹1,000 = ₹7,500) gives you an extra 15 minutes underwater - 45 minutes total - plus 10 extra GoPro photos and 2 extra videos. Almost certainly. Sea anemones hosting clownfish are spread across the entire reef, and the Havelock region is home to five different clownfish species. Your instructor knows where the busiest anemones are, and the GoPro will be ready when you find your Nemo.
All three are beginner-friendly boat dives. Tribe Gate is a 5-minute ride to a seamount known for clownfish and giant clams. Turtle Beach is a longer premium trip to a pristine staghorn coral garden. The Aquarium sits in between - a quick 10–15 minute ride to a sheltered reef with the densest, most consistent fish activity. If you want maximum fish per minute of dive time, this is the one.
October to May is the season, with December to April the most reliable window - stable seas and 15–25 m visibility. September to November brings coral spawning and exceptional fish numbers. Because the site is sheltered, it often stays diveable on days when exposed sites are not - a good bad-weather choice during the shoulder months.
