Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between PADI and RAID?

Both are ISO-certified and allow you to dive anywhere. PADI is more famous marketing-wise. RAID is more modern, digital-first, and certifies you to 20m (vs PADI’s 18m). If you want the big brand name, choose PADI. If you want deeper limits and performance training, choose RAID.

Is the PADI Open Water Course difficult?

It is designed for ages 10 and up, so it is very achievable! The hardest part for some is the swim test or the physics theory, but our instructors make it easy to understand.

Can I do the theory at home before arriving?

Yes! You can buy PADI eLearning online and finish the study portion before your trip.[5] This saves you holiday time. Contact us to link your eLearning to Frogman.

Does the certification expire?

No. Your PADI license is valid for life. However, if you don’t dive for a year or more, we recommend a quick “Scuba Refresher” dive.
