If you hated the classroom sessions in your Open Water course, you will love the Advanced. There are no final exams and very little video watching. This course is entirely about practical diving — you complete 5 adventure dives over 2–3 days and choose the specialties that interest you most.
The result: a deeper depth limit (30 metres), sharper buoyancy, better navigation, and a whole lot more confidence underwater.
Your course fee covers all 5 dives, equipment, PADI certification processing, and your digital card — everything from first dive briefing to the card in your inbox.
The PADI Advanced Open Water course has very simple entry requirements. If you've already done your Open Water, you're ready — regardless of which agency certified you.
The Advanced course is flexible — most students complete it in 2 full days, but we can spread it across 3 days if you prefer a relaxed pace or want to add the Night Dive elective.
No — any Open Water certification from any recognised agency (PADI, RAID, SSI, NAUI, BSAC, etc.) is accepted. Your card from any agency acts as the prerequisite for the PADI Advanced course.
No final exam. There are Knowledge Reviews to complete for each dive — short reading exercises in the manual or online — but no stressful written test at the end. The focus is entirely on practical diving.
Peak Performance Buoyancy is highly recommended for every diver — it transforms your control underwater and reduces air consumption. After that, Drift Diver is perfect for Havelock's current-driven sites. Night Diver is unforgettable if conditions allow.
It is highly recommended to own one by this stage of your diving, but if you don't have one yet, Frogman provides dive computers for all Advanced students to use during the course — no extra charge.
There is no mandatory time requirement, but if you haven't dived since your Open Water course, we'll do a short refresher dive before starting. This is free and takes about 45 minutes — it simply ensures you're comfortable before going to 30 metres.
Both are ISO-certified and globally recognised. PADI AOW certifies to 30m; RAID AOW certifies to 35m. RAID places a slightly heavier focus on horizontal trim and buoyancy. Frogman is both a PADI and RAID centre. We offer both Advanced courses — PADI Advanced certifies to 30m, RAID Advanced 35 certifies to 35m. Either card is accepted at dive sites worldwide.
The listed price of ₹26,000 excludes GST. 18% GST is applicable as per Indian government regulations, bringing the total to ₹30,680. Your invoice will show the full breakdown for any reimbursement or business claims.
Did OW and Advanced back to back at Frogman. The deep dive at Johnny's Gorge is something else — quieter, darker, and everything moves slower down there. The instructor covers narcosis well before the dive so when you notice it, you're not surprised.
The buoyancy dive is the real reason to do this course. My air consumption dropped noticeably in just one session — hovering rather than sinking sounds obvious but it changes everything else underwater.
The deep dive briefing covers what narcosis might feel like, so when I noticed it slightly at 28m it wasn't alarming. Night dive was my third elective choice but turned out to be the best one — the reef at night is a completely different experience.
No written exam, just practical sign-offs after each dive. Navigation clicked faster than I expected — compass bearings and kick cycles aren't complicated once you're in the water doing it. Finished both course days before 4pm.
