True to its name, Aquarium feels like swimming inside a glass tank. This scenic shallow fringing reef located approximately 5 kilometers southwest of Havelock Island offers crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral gardens teeming with colorful tropical fish.
The site features a gentle sloping reef perfect for observing dense coral formations and diverse marine life in its natural habitat. Its calm waters and excellent visibility make it an ideal destination for families and first-time divers.

Aquarium is often the first site where divers fall in love with the ocean. Located off the southwest coast of Havelock (near Elephant Beach), this fringing reef is protected from strong currents, resulting in water that is often as still and clear as a swimming pool.
The reef starts extremely shallow (2 meters) and gently slopes down to 15 meters. This topography allows sunlight to penetrate right to the bottom, making the colors of the hard corals pop vibrantly. It is arguably the best site in Havelock for light and color.
As the name suggests, the fish density here is remarkable. You aren’t hunting for fish; you are swimming through them. From schools of Snappers to the tiny damsels hovering over the coral, the water is constantly moving with life.
Scattered bommies (coral pinnacles) create natural pathways to follow. Each one has something different, from territorial clownfish guarding their anemone homes to shy lobsters tucked into crevices.

If you are nervous about your first dive, Aquarium is where I would take you. It is shallow, bright, and just a happy place to be underwater. We also find 5 different species of Clownfish here! Families love it, and so does anyone who wants a relaxed dive without fighting currents. The light here is also really good for photos.
